Angus & Julia Stone

Last night I attended a sold out performance by Angus and Julia Stone at Jive. Not knowing much of their stuff I was excited to hear (and see!) them live. Julia was so elegant in her long white dress and the brother and sister duo put on a mesmerising performance. It was definately among the great gigs that I have seen from a group that I have not known too much about.

Adelaide was the last gig on their national tour but if you get the chance to check them out take it!! Below are a couple of photos from the night. The rest will be in my gallery soon!!

Stay Tuned...

Muse

The first half of my photos from the BDO are now in my gallery. The rest should be up by tomorrow night! Unfortunately I don't have a lot of spare time to sit in front of the computer doing this as much as I would like!
Tomorrow night I am off to see Angus and Julia Stone at Jive. I am really looking forward to seeing them after their break through song 'Paper Aeroplanes' received a great reception by listeners on JJJ.
Friday night I am going to see Jurrassic 5 at Thebarton Theatre! Should be a good show aswell! Have seen them once before and they were great!Stay tuned for photos from Angus and Julia Stone and the rest of the BDO pics!

Big Day Out

John Butler

Well it's been a little while since I have had anything to say on here! So here I am... Not much has been happening music wise here in Adelaide but next Friday (2nd of Feb) we have the most anticipated date on the music calendar for the year, The Big Day Out. This year the event sold out in Adelaide in record time so it is bound to be huge! It is always a huge day of music festivities that leaves you sore for days!

I will be shooting the event for a local magazine called Entropy. Stay tuned as I will be posting all of my shots in the gallery!

After all the media hype (beat up!) about Sydney BDO goers being advised not to take their Australian flags to the event lets hope there is no trouble!

I arrived home late this afternoon tired and dirty but happy with my Falls Festival experience! Being my 3rd visit to the awesome festival I probably enjoyed this one the most because of the fact that I was taking photos. I will be sitting down over the next day or two to sort through all the photos so check back to see them all in my gallery. For now here is a teaser!

Something Different!

Well it has been a couple of weeks since I last posted anything on here. I was away for a few days during this time for work which got me thinking about other photographs, other than music photos that I have taken.

I was actually on the Murray River with a school group as I am finishing a postgrad teaching degree at the moment and am a kayaking instructor. I took my camera along to take a few happy snaps of my students and started thinking about all the other pics that I have taken of great landscapes and people over the last couple of years.

'Murray Mirror' - This photo was taken on the Murray River last year near a place called Chowilla Station near Renmark in South Australia.

'Nildottie Sunrise' - The amazing sunrise that I woke up to one morning whilst completing a solo 650km kayaking trip.

The photos below were taken on my most recent trip to Nepal in 2003. I am a keen outdoors enthusiast and have travelled to many amazing places throughout the years.

'Sunset Beauty' - This photo was sunset on Macchupuchare taken from Annapurna Base Camp. Macchupuchare has never been climbed because it is a holy mountain, such a beautiful sight!

'Trekkers view' - Three trekkers enjoy the view of Annapurna (8091m) the 10th highest mountain in the world.

'Prayers Above' - Prayer flags flutter in the wind on this memorial at 4100m above sea level at Annupurna Base Camp.

'Chandra' - This is a portrait of my guide and good friend Chandra just below Annapurna Base Camp.

'Relaxing' - in Southern Nepal, Chitwan National Park

More photos can be found by looking in my photo gallery. l will add more as I sort through the back catalogue!

Most of the photos found in my gallery are available for purchase. Please contact me via email for more information!
