Another Womadelaide world music festival has just finished and what a fine 3 days of world food, music and arts it was!! Arts Projects Australia definately know how to put on a show!




There were plenty of highlights but for me the stand outs were Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, Rokia Traore, Neil Finn, The Cat Empire and Ska Cubana. Womadelaide truly is a feast for the senses!

Updates, Updates, Updates!

Hhmmm, haven't been around for a while which is disappointing. As a result there are many updates to be had! Below are photos of Nine Inch Nails who I shot yesterday as part of the Soundwave 2009 Australian Tour for old trusty dB Magazine.







I had never seen so many lights for one band, they even put out a warning to epileptic people to be aware!

It was a long, hot, dusty day but some great bands and great photos to boot!

I have finally decided to get off my butt and try to keep this site regularly updated... Stay tuned over the next couple of weeks for updates from the Big Day Out Tour last month, Jose Gonzalez, and Womadelaide 09 which I am shooting over the upcoming weekend.

Adelaide International Guitar Festival

Last week I shot The Adelaide International Guitar Festival for dB Magazine. The night saw three of Australia's favourite rock bands crank out the tunes in Elder park as part of the 2nd annual guitar festival.

Magic Dirt opened the night with a solid performance followed by Shihad and Grinspoon finished up the night with a good (but to short!) performance.

The crowd was a bit dissapointing but the weather probably had something to do with this!

Last week I caught Devo at Thebarton Theatre. They have been around for over 30 years but and still put on a great show pulling out all their hits!! Photos below and more can be found at Fasterlouder.

Been a while between drinks....

Next week I am shooting Powderfinger as part of their 'Upstairs at the Downstairs Tour' for Fasterlouder. Should be a great show going on the last time I saw them which was in March this year as part of the Clipsal 500 after race concerts.

The Foo Fighters

Thursday night saw The Foo Fighters return to Adelaide to play one of the most anticipated shows of the year. The show was absolutely amazing and no one left dissapointed! Dave Grohl played out of his skin, interacting with the crowd and pulling out all the rock moves.

I was taking photos on the night for Fasterlouder which can be found here. The review of the show really highlights what a great night was had by all with the Foo's pulling out all stops to play an epic night of great rock music.

Matchbox 20

Last week I got to shoot Matchbox 20 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Although I am not really a fan, what I saw of them was quite solid. Rob Thomas pulled out all the hits and really played to the crowd! Due to copyright I cannot post my photos here but I was there shooting for Fasterlouder and all the shots can be seen here.

Big Day Out 08: Silverchair

Some more photos from this years Big Day Out. This time it's some of Aussie rock legends, Silverchair. Unfortunately on the day they didn't live up to their hype and were a bit flat.

Big Day Out 08: Rage Against the Machine

Having just returned from overseas I was straight back into it last week shooting the Adelaide leg of the Big Day Out circus for dB Magazine.

It was a great day as usual with a great variety of acts playing and the largest crowd ever at the event in Adelaide. There was only one band one the bill that most people had come to see... Rage Against the Machine! Having grown up as a teenager wanting to rebel the system, these guys provided the theme music.

RATM are one of only 3 acts that I have wished for the last 10 years to be able to see at some stage during my life. With the other two being Nirvana and Jeff Buckley I was hedging my bets on RATM!

The band did not disappoint playing a huge best of set to thousands of screaming and moshing punters. From the moment they stepped onto the stage they really hit the crowd with everything they had and no one left disappointed!
