Laneway 2011 was the first time I have attended this festival and it left me asking myself why I haven't gone before. Apart from the fact that it was tightly packed the music and atmosphere was amazing. Working for The Vine and hanging out with some good mates it was a cracking night. This is a quick peek at some of my favourite shots of the day... more to come!

BDO 2011 - Matt and Kim

Another highlight from this year's Big Day Out were Brooklyn Duo, Matt and Kim. They brought their infectious and fun sounds to the Lily World Stage and had an appreciative crowd bouncing around.

Those in Australia who know the current advert being run by Mars will know their song Daylight.

The energy that they both put into their music makes for great photo opportunities!

BDO 2011 - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

The Big Day Out juggernaut rolled into Adelaide last Friday. It was the coolest day for a Big Day Out in many years although the humidity still made it hard work!

The whole day seemed a bit flat, maybe it was the weather, maybe it was the feeling around town that it wasn't a very strong lineup. There were some great highlights throughout the day though with my favourite being Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

They put in a really passionate set and had many adoring fans. Playing songs from their awesome album Up From Below they were a real pleasure to watch. Alex Ebert put on a great show venturing into the crowd to sing with the bands fans.
